Stress can also make you feel edgy all of the time, and that can mean you feel keyed up and restless when you need to relax. The effects of stress on the body from mental sources often ends up coming out in a physical way. It can put undo stress on your heart and other systems of your body, making it work harder than it needs to work for the simplest of things. You may also find that you develop some bad habits as a result of that stress that can further harm your body. If you think lying awake at night worrying about work all of the time is only harming you mentally, you should think twice about that.
There are some things you can do to reduce the effects of stress on the body. For one, you can up your exercise program. Exercise is a great way to reduce the stress and also helps you feel better. You can also see what you can do to get rid of some of the sources of your stress. That might mean delegating more work to others. You may not feel as in control of everything, but your health depends on you thinking about yourself once in a while. You may also want to try something like yoga to lessen the effects of stress on the body. Yoga and the related breathing exercise can help melt stress away if you do it just a few times a week.
